Portion of West Race Street in Martinsburg will be closed beginning Monday for utility work

BURLINGTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Division of Highways advises motorists that a portion of West Race Street in Martinsburg is scheduled for a temporary closure for utility work starting Monday.West Race Street will be closed between Randolph and North Raleigh streets. A signed detour will direct traffic onto Kentucky Avenue, Martin and Raleigh streets. Access to homes and businesses along West Race Street will be maintained from either Randolph Street or Tuskegee Drive. The closure is necessary for underground utility work on a portion of the new Raleigh Street extension and should last no longer than one week, weather permitting, officials said.
