Anna Marie “Annie” Barber, 93, of Hagerstown, Md., and formerly of Ebensburg, Pa., passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at Golden Living Nursing Home in Hagerstown.

Born July 10, 1918, in Johnstown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Ungero) Crisafulli.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Barber, who died Nov. 4, 2004. 

She attended Holy Name Catholic Church in Ebensburg, where she was a member of Catholic Daughters. While living in Ebensburg, she loved to golf, play cards, knitting and lots of baking. While living in Hagerstown, she was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Halfway, Md.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathryn Ann Barber of Hagerstown; one sister, Mary Louise Crisafulli of Johnstown; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held.


Funeral Mass will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Holy Name Church, Ebensburg, with the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus as celebrant. Entombment will be at Holy Name Mausoleum. Following the funeral, a reception will be held at Holy Name Hall.
