Josephine Lucy (Cantineri) Teays, 72, of Hagerstown, Md., died early Monday morning, Jan. 23, 2012, at her home in Hagerstown.

Born Oct. 20, 1939, in Corning, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Michael and Lucy Marie (Magent) Cantineri.

She was the wife of the late Robert Edward “Bob” Teays Jr., who died Dec. 1, 2003.

Josephine was a waitress in Hagerstown for many years, working at various restaurants.

She was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hagerstown.

Josephine is survived by one daughter, Dorlene T. Mills of Hagerstown; two sons, Robert M. Teays of Hagerstown and David J. Teays of Tulsa, Okla.; three sisters, Joan Sylvester of Corning, and Theresa Locke and Mary Goodman, both of Pennsylvania; three brothers, Anthony Cantineri of Painted Post, N.Y., Harvey Letterman of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Mike Cantineri of Corning; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter, Kyra Mills.

In addition to her husband and parents, Josephine was preceded in death by one brother, Louis Cantineri.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. George A. Limmer will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at the funeral home, with the Christian wake service beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 224 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, MD 21740; or to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.

Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, Bryan K. Kenworthy P.A., 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
