Family program planned at church

Boonsboro Bible Church, at 6741 Old National Pike, will host a new family-oriented program. The first family experience is a production called “Kidstuf,” a place where parents and children come together with music, dance, videos and a cast of funny characters that will entertain the entire family. 

The event will be Sunday, Feb. 5, at 12:15 p.m. in the fellowship hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Basket bingo to be held at Legion

Clopper Michael American Legion Post 10 will hold a basket bingo Sunday, Feb. 12, with doors opening at 11:30 a.m. Bingo starts at 1:30 p.m., and will include 20 regular games and five specials.

Tickets cost $20. Raffles and other games will also be sold.

Jewelry exhibit

Boonsboro native Terah Ware will be part of a featured exhibit at Gifts Inn BoonsBoro, 16 N. Main St., beginning Saturday, Feb. 4, with an opening reception from 1 to 3 p.m.
Ware is working on a new collection of jewelry titled “Sepia Jewels.” The collection has been influenced by her interest in mixed media and historical adornments.

Class of 1977

The BHS Class of 1977 reunion meeting will be Sunday at 5 p.m. at the home of Sherry (Reeder) Bingaman on Appletown Road in Boonsboro.

No RSVP is necessary.

The 35th class reunion will be Oct. 20 at Fairplay Fire Hall.

Library news

Lots to do at the library this week:

  • On Wednesday at 6 p.m., Jeff Worth from the Boonsboro Wellness Center will teach “The Four Energy Gates: A Simple Self-Healing Program Based on Traditional Chinese Medicine.” Registration is encouraged, but not required.
  • A craft workshop for teens is planned Thursday, beginning at 5 p.m. Participants will make crafts using old magazines.
  • On Saturday at 11:30 a.m., the library will show the movie “The Smurfs,” rated PG.

Green Fest

The fourth annual Boonsboro Green Fest might be five months away, but vendors should start planning now if they want to participate in the event slated for Saturday, May 12, in  Shafer Park. 

The official website ( will direct vendors to the application form, which can be filled out and emailed, or printed and mailed to Boonsboro Green Fest, P.O. Box 64, Boonsboro, MD 21713. Checks should be made payable to Boonsboro Green Fest. 

The registration fee is $20 for a 10-foot-square space. Additional 10-foot-square spaces cost $20 each. Vendors must provide their own tables and canopies. The registration application deadline is April 2; however, the Green Fest committee urges vendors to apply as soon as possible, as there are limited spaces available.
