Andrukat, Kelly are Washington County Tech High students of month

Alexis Andrukat and Chris Kelly have been named students of the month at Washington County Technical High School.

Andrukat is a senior at Tech High, enrolled in graphic communications, advanced-placement English language and Hagerstown Community College’s Essence Program’s sociology 101.

She is a member of the National Technical Honor Society and co-editor of the yearbook, while carrying a grade-point average of 3.70. 

Her home school is Smithsburg High School, where she is playing basketball and has played soccer. Alexis was named all-county second team in basketball last year and honorable mention the two previous years.

She plans to continue her education at a four-year college, where she plans to major in communications and minor in business administration, and hopes to continue her basketball career.

Her goal upon graduation is to enter the field of public relations.

Kelly is a senior in the pre-engineering class at Tech High. Outside of class, he enjoys computer activity and video games. 

His home school is Hancock Middle/Senior High School.

He was involved in Boy Scout Troop 15 in Hancock for four years, and played basketball, football and baseball throughout middle school.

He is enrolled in pre-engineering, digital electronics, advanced-placement English language, honors precalculus and honors world history.

He holds a 3.23 grade-point average at Tech High.

He plans to pursue a civil-engineering degree at Penn State University.
