Lola Viola Bartle, 97, of Halfway, Md., died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Md.

Born April 15, 1914, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William Howard and Eliza Jane Scott Mann.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kyle Bartle, on Sept. 6, 1992.

She was a 1932 graduate of Waynesboro High School.

She was formerly employed by Stanley Co. of Chambersburg, Pa., and later by J.J. Newberry Co. and McCrory’s for 18 years.

She attended Christ’s Reformed Church on Franklin Street in Hagerstown for about 60 years.

She is survived by three daughters, Gloria A. Rogers of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Dr. Linda R. Bartle of Columbia, Md., and Sherry L. Duncan of Elgin, S.C.; five grandchildren, Charles S. Burger of Newbury, Md., Lisa (Burger) Campbell of Jacksonville, Fla., Julie M. Hankins of Hagerstown, Michael J. Hankins Jr. of Lugoff, S.C., and Kelli S. Smith of Elgin; five great-grandchildren, Chelsea Campbell, Collin Campbell and Carly Campbell, all of Florida, Emilio Hankins of Lugoff, and Kailey Bowman of Elgin; a nephew, Harry R. Reinecker, whom she helped raise; and various other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Agnes George, Martha Rensch and Gail Reinecker.

Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dr. Gregg R. Meserole will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
