Charles William “Red” Wiles, 69, of Clear Spring, Md., passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at his home.

Born Dec. 30, 1942, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Charles Scott Wiles and Julia Irene Johnson Wiles.

He attended Clear Spring High School.

He retired from Larstan Industries after 20 years of employment. 

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Rose Marie Reed Wiles of Clear Spring; two daughters, Julia I. Woodring and Victoria M. Wiles, both of Clear Spring; a son, James A. Wiles, of West Virginia; a sister, Dora L. Bussard of Clear Spring; a brother, Ralph A. Wiles of Clear Spring; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher D. Wiles; and a sister, Ida M. Wiles.

Services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring. The Rev. Bobby Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. For the convenience of family and friends, you may visit the funeral home after noon.
