Kenneth R. DeLauter Sr., 94, of Ringgold Pike, Ringgold, Md., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born Dec. 20, 1917, at Foxville, Md., he was the son of the late Glenn L. and Mary (Blickenstaff) DeLauter.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Janet L. (Ridenour) DeLauter, who passed June 28, 2005.
He attended Foxville School and graduated from Thurmont High School.
He retired in 1983 from Frick Co. of Waynesboro, Pa.
He was a member of Mount Moriah Lutheran Church of Foxville, Acacia Masonic Lodge 155 of Thurmont and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 89 of Hagerstown.
He is survived by daughters, Barbara A. Hosfeld of Hagerstown, Md., and M. Susan Harrison and husband, Joseph, of Zullinger, Pa.; son, Kenneth R. DeLauter Jr. of Smithsburg, Md.; brother, Paul H. DeLauter of Foxville; sister, Kathleen Zeigler of Foxville; grandchildren, Christi Blair and Richard Hosfeld; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by brothers, Howard L. DeLauter and Glenn B. DeLauter; and sisters, Mary Crane, Minnie Sharkey and Virginia Fenby.
Services will be held Monday, Jan. 23, at 11 a.m. at Mount Moriah Lutheran Church, with Pastor Julie Brigham officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, with a Masonic memorial service at 8 p.m.
