South Hagerstown High Class of 1961 donates $500 to Rebel scholarship fund

The South Hagerstown High Class of 1961 made a $500 donation to the scholarship fund.

The class celebrated its 50th reunion in 2011 and wanted to mark the occasion by giving a gift.

The reunion committee for the coming year is William Shank and Phillip Haynes, co-chairmen; Ellen (Forsythe) Fahey, Wanda (Adams) Winner, Robert Holliway, Carol (Houser) Gibney, Ray Roof, Mary (Stull) Householder, Emmitt Norcross, Sandra (Grossnickel) Norcross, Ed Strawther, Johanna (Bross) Zimmerly and Tobey (Rudisill) Anderson.

Class members  Shank Haynes and Anderson presented the $500 check to Tim Steiner, alumni treasurer, and South High Principal Tim Dawson.

The annual picnic is scheduled for Oct. 6 at Doub’s Woods Park, north pavilion, at 11 a.m.

Also, a luncheon is planned at a later date. Notification will be sent in the mail.
