January 15, 2012

More than $23,000 in free groceries will be given away in the Mid-Atlantic Farmers Feed U.S. sweepstakes, which is open online through April 3.

Grand-prize winners will be selected from Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia to win free groceries for a year.

First and second prizes will also be awarded. To enter the sweepstakes, consumers will watch videos featuring farmers from the Mid-Atlantic region.

Residents 18 years or older can go to www.FarmersFeedUS.org/ma and select their location, then select one of the farmers listed to access an online entry form. One sweepstakes entry is available per day for each farmer selected.

Visit the watermelon queen on her Maryland farm; see how grain is grown in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania; tour a chicken farm and dairy farm in Delaware; and from Pennsylvania, visit a mushroom farmer, egg farmer and hog farmer.
