Road and lane closure update - Jan. 13

January 13, 2012

• West Baltimore Street is currently closed between Mill Street and King Street for demolition work on the former Washington County Hospital complex. A traffic advisory from the City of Hagerstown's website, www.hagerstownmd.org, said that West Baltimore Street or Mill Street would be subject to closure there every weekday until Friday, Jan. 27, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

• Alley 2-94 between West Baltimore and West Lee Streets, which has been closed since last Monday, is now open. It was closed so a gas main could be replaced, according to another traffic advisory from the city's website.

• In the same area, the east side of Summit Avenue between West Lee Street and West Baltimore Street and the eastbound lane of West Lee Street between Summit Avenue and Hood Street are still closed so workers from Columbia Gas could work on a gas line there, but according to a published report on Thursday both areas should reopen by this afternoon.

• The eastern side of Alley 2-60 (Library Alley) connecting Summit Avenue to South Prospect Street between West Antietam Street and West Washington Street, however, is still closed. It was scheduled to remain closed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday so work crews from NTELOS, Inc. could install underground communication cables in the alley, according to another traffic advisory from the city's website.
