Here is the list of road and lane closures in the area for Friday, Jan. 13:
*As of 7 a.m., Traffic is moving smoothly on I-270 in both directions between Frederick and I-495, I-70 in both directions between Hancock and Baltimore, and I-81 in both directions throughout the state. It is a little sluggish, however, on I-495 in both directions between I-95 and I-270.
* The MARC Train is seeing minor delays, according to the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) website, http://mta.maryland.gov. All Brunswick Line trains will operate 10 to 15 minutes late between Barnesville, Md., and Gaithersburg, Md., until further notice due to a disabled freight train near Barnesville. Train 872 (5:38 a.m. Brunswick departure) is operating 20 minutes late departing Rockville for Kensington, and Train 878 (6:30 a.m. Martinsburg, W.Va., departure) will be boarding passengers on the opposite track at Brunswick Station.
*Although the MARC Train is seeing minor delays, local bus services, community bus services, the Metro Subway system, the Light Rail service, and the Mobility service are all running on time, according to the MTA website.
*East Baltimore Street between King Street and Mill Street and Mill Street between Baltimore Street and South Cannon Avenue are subject to closure for demolition work on the former Washington County Hospital complex, according to a traffic advisory from the City of Hagerstown's website, www.hagerstownmd.org. Closure is expected to remain in effect every weekday through Friday, Jan. 27 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day.
* Work to expand the intersection of Massey Boulevard and Halfway Boulevard near Hagerstown is mostly complete, but minor work still needs to be done in the area.
* Only one lane of Md. 550 in Thurmont, Md., is open between Eylers Valley Flint Road and Kelbaugh Road due to a mudslide that occurred last April. However, it could reopen by June.
