South girls rout Brunswick

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Katrice Dickson scored a game-high 24 points to lead South Hagerstown to an 86-42 MVAL Antietam victory Thursday over Brunswick (3-7, 3-4).

Tayana Stewart had 23 points, including three 3-pointers, Chelsea Scott had a double-double with 13 points and 10 assists, Alexis Shaffer had 11 points and Alexis Small had six points and 16 rebounds for the Rebels (8-5, 5-2).

Callie Butts scored a game-high 17 points and Heritage Academy led 21-0 after the first quarter in a Mason Dixon Christian Conference win over Cumberland Valley Christian School (3-7, 1-5).

Butts added six steals, Rachel Clarke had 10 points, eight rebounds and five steals, Kara Stamper posted a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds and added three blocks, Rose Clarke had nine points and Kathleen Kidd had six assists for the Eagles (10-0, 8-0).

MERCERSBURG, Pa. — Seve Narkute had 20 points, nine rebounds and six steals to lead St. Maria Goretti to an Independent-Parochial School League win over Mercersburg Academy.

Maggie Murray added four steals and five assists for the Gaels (11-4, 3-1).

Sarah Firestone led Mercersburg (5-4, 0-2) with 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Melody Gomez had seven points and 13 rebounds in the loss.
