Blue Band Boosters to hold basket bingo

The Williamsport Blue Band Boosters will hold a Longaberger and Vera Bradley bingo Sunday, Feb. 12, at the Elks Lodge on Robinwood Drive in Hagerstown.

Tickets cost $25 per person and include a meal and 26 games of bingo. Refreshments, raffles and tip jars will be available to purchase.

Doors will open at 11:30 a.m., dinner will be provided by the Elks Lodge at 12:30 p.m. and bingo begins at 1:30 p.m.

South High alumni group to meet today

The South Hagerstown High School’s Alumni Association will meet today at 7 p.m. in the media center at South High.

Topics to be discussed include 2012 scholarships, the annual golf tournament and an alumni meet and greet in June. All South High graduates and teachers are eligible for membership in the association.

Child development center to host open house

Open Arms Christian Child Development Center, a preschool for 3- and 4-year-olds, will host an open house Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. The preschool is at Concordia Lutheran Church off Downsville Pike.

Classic car display planned

Classic Car Group for Children will have a display at Valley Mall on Saturday, Jan. 21, and Sunday, Jan. 22. Classic cars from throughout history will be on display during regular mall hours.  

Donations will be accepted to benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children.  



School reminders

Parents of Washington County students, be sure to note the following on your calendars: Schools will be closed Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Schools will close 2 1/2 hours early on Friday, Jan. 20. Schools will be closed Monday, Jan. 23, for a professional learning day.
