1. Playing 'God's Favorite'

Washington County Playhouse Dinner Theater continues this weekend with "God's Favorite," Neil Simon's modern-day interpretation of the biblical Book of Job. Dinner at 6 p.m. and the show follows. Continues Fridays and Saturdays through Jan. 28, with one Sunday matinee at 1 p.m. Jan. 15. The theater is at 44 N. Potomac St., downtown Hagerstown. Enter in rear. Tickets cost $30 to $42. 2. Exercise your right for charity

Gold's Gym, Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, is hosting a fundraiser for REACH Cold Weather Shelter from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14. Bring donations for REACH's Cold Weather Shelter and attend a free selected exercise class that morning. Basket raffle tickets $1. Proceeds benefit the shelter and United Way's Launch for the Stars campaign. Call Gold's Gym 301-733-0980.


3. Spaghetti and a side of good deeds

A spaghetti fundraising dinner will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Shepherdstown Fire Department, 8052 Martinsburg Pike, Shepherdstown, W.Va. Menu includes spaghetti with or without meatballs, salad, garlic bread, dessert and beverages. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children; free for children younger than 5. 4.Dinner and more

A slippery pot pie dinner, silent auction and gospel entertainment will be Saturday, Jan. 14, doors open at 5 p.m., dinner at 5:30 p.m., show at 7 p.m. St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 24 E. Baltimore St., Funkstown. All-you-can-eat, $7. Silent auction, and gospel entertainment. Proceeds benefit youth attending ELCA National Youth Gathering in New Orleans. Call 301-733-2678.

5. Bingo for education

A bingo to raise funds for University System of Maryland at Hagerstown scholarship fund will be  Sunday, Jan. 15, at Elks Lodge, 11063 Robinwood Drive, east of Hagerstown. Doors open at 11 a.m., lunch at noon. Longaberger baskets, Vera Bradley and money games. Advance tickets $25, $30 at the door.
