Edward David Price, 87, of Camden, S.C., formerly of Hagerstown, passed away Dec. 31, 2011, at Morningside Assisted Living.

Born in Indianapolis, Ind., he was the son of the late Edward Andrew and Garnett Hilton Price.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Veva Royal (Peet) Price, in 2005.

Mr. Price graduated from Butler University with a degree in business and was vice president of Guilderland Mutual in Delmar, N.Y., at the time of his retirement in 1987. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, having served in the European Theater. While in Hagerstown, he was a member of the Lions Club and was very active in the local Red Cross. He was a member of First Christian Church. Later, he became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by a son, Michael E. Price and his wife Brenda, of Camden, formerly of Hagerstown; a daughter, Marsha Ellen (Price) Mauriello and her husband, Paul; sisters, Carol Miller and Jeanine Lord; a brother, Douglas Price; grandchildren, David Price and his wife, Tracey, Laura Bartschi and her husband, Jonathon, Sarah Portzal, Nathan Price and his wife, Kim, Rachael Price, Matthew Mauriello and his wife, Krystal, David Mauriello and his wife, Cathy, Chelsea Mauriello Lachut and her husband, Steven; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Price requested to be cremated, and a private family service will be held at the home of his daughter.
