East Antietam Street is closed to all traffic between Potomac Street and Renaissance Way.

Work crews from the City of Hagerstown's wastewater division are repairing a sanitary sewer lateral on the street, according to a traffic advisory from the city's website, www.hagerstownmd.org. The work requires excavation and trenching in the street.

A detour route has been established to direct traffic around the closure, using South Potomac Street, East Baltimore Street, and South Locust Street.

The road is expected to reopen when the work is completed at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Emergency vehicles cannot pass through the work area while the closure is in effect.
