Adaline Kendall Knepper, 94, formerly of 1013 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown, Md., died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at Coffman Nursing Home. She was surrounded by her family.

Born Thursday, Jan. 11, 1917, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles Cleveland and the late Clara Bessie Miner Kendall.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy E. Knepper, in August 1976, and by four brothers.

Adaline is survived by her daughter, Deanna Soulis and husband, Bill, of Hagerstown; her two sons, Edward Knepper and wife, Barbara, of Hagerstown, and G. Cleveland Knepper and wife, Norma, of Williamsport; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was a lifelong member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, where she attended the United Worker Sunday school class.

She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 3, Fahrney-Keedy Auxiliary and the Ladies of the Elks.

Graveside services will be held privately with the family at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Edward L. Poling and the Rev. Dean Miller officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, 15 S. Mulberry St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.
