Harry Wagaman Kretzer, 101, of Hagerstown, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at NMS Health Care Center.

Born May 13, 1910, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Harry Hamilton and Dora (Grove) Kretzer.

Harry worked as a cabinet finisher at Brandt Cabinets after going to work for the Postal Telegraph Service.

Harry was an avid reader. He loved classical music and baseball.

He is survived by a daughter, Donna J. Wells, and a son, Brian A. Kretzer and wife, Kathryn, all of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elma Mae (French) Kretzer, who died in 2006; a daughter, Loretta Kretzer Hemphill, who died in 1981; two sisters, Mildred Barnes and Frances Madison; and a brother-in-law, Irvin Winter French.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 17636 W. Washington St., Hagerstown.

Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown, is in charge of the arrangements.
