Diane Marie "Peanut" Gloyd, 53, died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, at her home.

Born Jan. 6, 1959, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Esther Bowen of Clear Spring, Md., and James Shelby of Sharpsburg, Md.

She attended Smithsburg High School and later received her GED.

She was formerly employed by Good Humor and by Action Products.

She enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by daughters, Tanya Lewis of Hagerstown, and Gina Etter and husband, John, of Cavetown, Md.; sisters, Pam Cavender and husband, Denny, of Mercersburg, Pa., June Bishop and husband, Rocky, of Clear Spring, Peggy Shelby of Clear Spring and Rhonda Needy of Funkstown; a brother, Roy Shelby and wife, Annie, of Clear Spring; two grandchildren, L.J. Etter and Jaylyn Etter; four nieces; five nephews; two great-nieces; and four great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at 7 p.m. at Hagerstown Church of the Nazarene, 141 N. Edgewood Drive, Hagerstown. The Rev. Steve Johnson and Pastor Andrea Sawtelle will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations for a burial fund may be made in care of Tanya Lewis, 11622 Robinwood Drive, Hagerstown, MD 21742.

Arrangements were entrusted to Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, MD 21722.
