Mercersburg, Pa., police investigate theft of sheep from nativity scene

MERCERSBURG, Pa. — Mercersburg police were seeking information Monday about a theft reported from the nativity scene at Trinity United Church of Christ at 129 E. Seminary St.

Between Dec. 5 and Jan. 5, someone stole a sheep statue that was about 10 inches tall and 20 inches long, police said in a news release.

Anyone with information may call police at 717-328-2221 or Franklin County (Pa.) Crime Solvers at 717-263-3000.

The same church reported that someone threw eggs at its east wall on Jan. 8, police said.
