January 09, 2012

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The Martinsburg Police Department was searching for a man who pulled a knife during a robbery early Monday at the Mid-Town 7-Eleven store on Winchester Avenue.

Employees of the store at 201 Winchester Ave. flagged down an officer at 12:13 a.m. to report that a masked man pulled a knife and demanded money from the cash registers, according to a police department news release.

The employees told police that the robber fled to a spot where a light-colored sedan was parked. The sedan then left the area in a hurry.

Police said the American-made sedan was gold or tan with a dark-yellow, magnetic sticker on the side that said “Certified Escort” or “New York Certified Escort.” The vehicle had a full yellow or orange light bar on top.

Officers described the robber as a white male with reddish-brown eyebrows. He was about 6 feet tall.
Anyone with information may call police at 304-264-2100.
