MERCERSBURG, Pa. — A Mercersburg man was charged Wednesday with driving under the influence and other counts after crashing his vehicle in Peters Township, Pa., according to a news release from Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg, Pa.
Justin Daniel Mellott, 25, crashed his vehicle into a utility pole in the 11900 block of Buchanan Trail West in Peters Township at 6:47 p.m., according to the release. Mellott resisted arrest while troopers tried to arrest him, according to the release.
A 4-year-old boy was found in the front seat of the vehicle and was not in a booster seat, according to the release.
Mellott was charged with driving under the influence, resisting arrest, endangering the welfare of a child and multiple summary traffic violations, according to the release. He then was taken to the Franklin County Jail, according to the release.
