Adeline G. Domenici, 86, of Hagerstown, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, at Williamsport Retirement Village.

Born Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1925, in Petersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John and Maria (Morbatelli) Gannarelli.

She was married to Maurice Richard Domenici on Sept. 30, 1950, in Altoona, Pa. He preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 1996.

Adeline graduated from Petersburg High School in 1944. She also attended Shippensburg College, graduating in 1948. She taught at Williamsport High School from 1948 to 1950. She also taught at St. Mary’s Catholic elementary school from 1960 to 1990. Starting in 1992, she taught for the board of education, tutoring homebound students.

Adeline loved cooking, and entertaining her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Louis Joseph Domenici and wife, Ann (Leman), of Baltimore, Md.; daughter, Mary Frances Kefauver and husband, Robert, of Halfway, Md.; brother, Anthony Gannarelli of Plano, Texas; and two grandsons, Brian Robert Domenici and Michael Shawn Domenici.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

A memorial service will be Saturday, Jan. 7, 2011, at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 224 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Collin Poston as celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742 or Girls Inc., 626 Washington Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Arrangement have been entrusted to Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.
