Virgil E. Creek, 91, a resident of Charlotte’s Home, and formerly of Big Pool, Md., died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown, Md.

Born Jan. 28, 1920, in Little Orleans, Md., he was the son of the late Raymond W. and Julia Boden Creek, and the widower of Grace Normalee Fletcher Creek, who died April 18, 2008.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He retired from Mack Trucks as a milling machine operator.

He was a member of Hancock Assembly of God Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Sherry Shives of Big Pool; two sons, Terry Creek of State Line, Pa., and Earnest Creek of Clear Spring, Md., two brothers, Carl Creek of Little Orleans, and Millard Creek of Hancock, Md., two sisters, Hazel Souders of Hancock and Edna Oliver of Louisville, Ohio; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A service will be Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Hancock Assembly of God Church, 431 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Hancock. Pastor Donald Preston will officiate. Burial will be in Price-Wesleyan Memorial Cemetery, Little Orleans.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. For the convenience of family and friends, the church will be open from 3 to 8 p.m.
