The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) has resumed its regular schedule for roadwork on roads it maintains and is not scheduled to suspend it again this weekend, according to SHA spokesman Charlie Gischlar.
"The holidays are over, so everybody's back on schedule," Gischlar said.
Over the past two weekends, for the holidays, the SHA suspended roadwork on Friday at 9 a.m. and did not resume work until 9 a.m. the following Tuesday.
All roads were open to traffic during that time.
The SHA has taken precautionary measures in the past to accommodate travel over holiday weekends. It suspended roadwork for Thanksgiving week travelers and had extra staff working to assist motorists and passengers having trouble on the road.
