James Andrew Lynn, 91, of Hagerstown, Md., died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Md.

Born March 1, 1920, in Washington County, Md., he was the son of the late Andrew Hugh and Ethel Marie Sprecher Lynn.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Force in the Pacific campaign. He attained the rank of master sergeant.

He retired from Fairchild Aircraft and Mack Trucks.

He was a life member of the Western Maryland Sportsman’s Club, and a member of VFW Post 1936.

He is survived by two daughters, Tessa Swope, and Diana Lynn and fiancé, Tom Bauer; two sons, James A. Lynn Jr. and wife, Linda, and Ricky Lynn and wife, Debbie; one sister, Miriam Payne; two brothers, Cecil Lynn and Orville Lynn; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gloria Sloan and Grace Lynn; and five brothers, Guy Lynn, Luther Lynn, Leroy Lynn, Ray Lynn and Gerald Lynn.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone, Md.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p m. at the funeral home.
