Washington County CVB publishes Destination Planning Guide

January 01, 2012

The Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau has produced a new Destination Planning Guide.

“This publication serves as valuable resource for potential bus groups and any volume visitor business,” said Director of Sales Betsy De Vore.

The 48-page guide provides information about what Washington County has to offer for business meetings and convention services, venues and accommodations, points of interest, attractions and recreation, as well as shopping and dining.

The Destination Planning Guide includes maps of Washington County, in addition to listings of all the attractions, recreational opportunities, and a shopping and dining guide. One of the things that sets the Destination Planning Guide apart from the CVB’s annual Visitor Guide is the section devoted to meeting sites and accommodations.

Statistics on meetings sites and accommodations are provided, including square footage, ceiling height, dimensions, seating capacity and number of breakout rooms. There is a complete list and description on unique meeting sites, as well.

The glossy guide features a cover photo of Antietam National Battlefield, along with photos of a bike race, the Maryland Symphony Orchestra and kayaking on the Potomac River. There are photos throughout the guide, which feature Washington County’s five national parks, eight state parks, Hagerstown Premium Outlets, and other sites and attractions. There is an entire section devoted to arts and culture, including the more than 30 museums in the county.

The last time the guide was produced was in 2008. The new Destination Planning guide was designed by CVB member Power-Marketing of Hagerstown and printed by CVB member Mercersburg (Pa.) Printing.
