Man who threatened suicide in Pa. park taken into custody


FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. — A man who was threatening to commit suicide at Caledonia State Park was taken into custody without incident Thursday afternoon, Pennsylvania State Police said.

The 45-year-old Chambersburg man made several statements that he intended to take his own life, police said. The incident occurred between 2:30 and 5 p.m., police said.

The man was voluntarily admitted to Chambersburg Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, police said.



Zebra print bumper stolen from parked car in Chambersburg


CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police were investigating the theft of a distinctive-looking front bumper from a car while it was parked outside a store Thursday afternoon.

The pink and black zebra print bumper was removed from a 1996 Honda Civic while the owner, a Fayetteville, Pa., woman, was inside The Pet Store, 1710 Lincoln Way East, police said.

The theft was reported at 5:30 p.m., police said.
