SHADY GROVE, Pa. — Adam Miller, a member of Boy Scout Troop 95 in Shady Grove, earned the rank of Eagle Scout in October.

Eagle Scout is the highest rank in Scouting.

In 2001, Adam began his Scouting career in Tiger Cubs and progressed through all of the Scout ranks, receiving many achievements and awards until reaching the Eagle Scout rank.

Adam’s Court of Honor was held Dec. 11 at Shady Grove Community Center. Scout leaders Rich Melius and Terry Stine presided over the ceremony, presenting Adam with his Eagle Scout badge. Other Eagle Scouts, including his brother, Ryan, conducted the program.

Adam’s Eagle Scout project was the replacement of the ceiling at Shady Grove Community Center. He organized a mulch sale, and with the help of his troop, covered the cost of the project.

Adam planned, organized and supervised the project, which consisted of tearing down the old ceiling tiles; fixing, replacing, cleaning, painting and replacing old fixtures; and installing new ceiling tiles.

In December, Adam received a citation and special recognition from Todd Rock, a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

Adam is the son of Steve and Mary Miller of Waynesboro, Pa.
