HAGERSTOWN — Police have charged two people in a strong-arm robbery that occurred Monday morning on South Potomac Street in Hagerstown, city police said.
Michael Junior Rodriguez, 22, and Barbara Jean Rodriguez, 20, neither of whom have a fixed address, were each charged with robbery, second-degree assault and theft of less than $1,000, according to a news release from the Hagerstown Police Department.
The robbery was reported at 11:41 a.m. near 55 S. Potomac St., police said. The victim said she had been assaulted and robbed, and knew the people involved, police said.
The Rodriguezes were arrested after a brief investigation.
They were awaiting arraignment at the Washington County Detention Center Monday afternoon, according to a spokesman there.
