Funkstown Lions Club donates to Doub PTA

The Funkstown Lions Club organized a basket bingo fundraiser to benefit local charities.  
 
The Emma K. Doub PTA was one of the recipients, and it was presented with a check for $2,662.81.  

Over the past two years, the Lions Club has helped raise more than $5,000 for the PTA. Sponsors who helped support the event include The Granite Guys, Tim Panther of State Farm, Raynor Photography, CMG Electric, Friends of Tilghmanton Estates, Orrstown Bank, Drs. Toothman & Barra, Larry Allen & Co., Firehouse Grill, the Placie family, the Woiccak family, the Slocum Family, Christine Hurley, the Tosten family, and in memory of Mary Lowans and Joe Baker.

Planetarium offers program on Tuesdays

The planetarium program at the Washington County Board of Education off  Commonwealth Avenue is a great way to spend an evening. It will be open Tuesdays Jan. 3 and 17, Feb. 7 and 21, and March 6.

The program begins at 7 p.m.  Admission costs $2 for students and children and $3 for adults, with a $10 maximum per family.
