Woodmen of the World Lodge 1 makes donations to nonprofits

On Nov. 21, Woodmen of the World Lodge 1 presented donations totaling $2,000 to local agencies at its Thanksgiving banquet at Applause Catering in downtown Hagerstown.

The lodge presented the following:
° The Salvation Army — $500 for food

° The Salvation Army — $500 for Toys for Tots

° Fairplay Volunteer Fire Department — $500

° Williamsport Fire Department — $500

Woodmen Lodge 1 is on Reichard Road in Hagerstown. It has presented other donations over the past year, including:
° The lodge donated a 30-foot flagpole, plaque and flag for the town of Funkstown.

° It provided a 30-foot flagpole, flag and plaque on 9/11 for a ceremony at the Smithsburg Fire Co., along with small flags at different events.

° It gave flag sets to a church and to a school for its auditorium.

° It is planning a donation to Four States Christian Food Bank for Christmas.
