21 — Williamsport girls win Washington County indoor track championship at HCC, while Boonsboro edges Williamsport by 3 points for boys title.

23 — Pittsburgh Steelers win AFC Championship with 24-19 victory over New York Jets.

25 — In boys basketball, Saint James scores first 22 points of game and beats Hancock 83-42.

28 — In boys prep basketball, North Hagerstown defeats Williamsport 50-39, the first loss for Williamsport after 13 wins.

30 — In prep wrestling, Boonsboro beats North Hagerstown 42-31, the Warriors’ first-ever win over North.

Feb. 4 — Williamsport’s Stephen Christy scores 32 points to lead the Wildcats over Clear Spring. … In girls hoops Smithsburg edges North Hagerstown 46-44.

5 — Williamsport girls win Maryland 1A West indoor track title.

6 — Green Bay Packers win Super Bowl XLV over Pittsburgh 31-25.

7 — Stephen Christy scores 40 points to lead Williamsport past Middletown 81-79. … Smithsburg’s Katie Sprecher scores 35 points in win over Clear Spring in girls hoops.

8 — In boys hoops, North Hagerstown rallies from 16 points down to beat South Hagerstown 48-47.

26 — In wrestling, Aaron Rowland wins Maryland 4A-3A region title at 285 pounds. … North’s Brendon Colbert (112 pounds), Williamsport’s Kemper Baker (140) and Williamsport’s Zach Shoemaker (145) win 2A-1A West titles. … Broadfording beats Heritage Academy 62-61 for boys MDCC title and Heritage loses to New Life 43-36 in girls championship game.

28 — In boys basketball, South Hagerstown opens 3A West tournament with 70-52 win over Clarksburg. … In 1A West, the Williamsport boys beat Oakdale 72-57.
