FORT LOUDON, Pa. — A 48-year-old man died early Christmas morning in a house fire on Path Valley Road in Franklin County, Pa., Pennsylvania State Police and the Franklin County Coroner said.
Brian James Glass of 1689 Path Valley Road was pronounced dead on the scene by Franklin County Coroner Jeff Conner, police said.
The fire was reported at 3:30 a.m. at 1689 Path Valley Road, Conner said in a news release.
An elderly man and woman were able to escape the home during the fire, police said.
Conner said in the release that Glass was trapped in the home and died from carbon monoxide poisoning. No other details were available.
“The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation; however no foul play is suspected,” the news release said.
Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Jeffrey Sarver and Criminal Investigator Franklin Hershey responded to the scene at 4:40 a.m., police said.
The Franklin County Air Unit and fire companies from St. Thomas Township, Metal Township, Mercersburg, Fannett/Metal, Greencastle, Franklin, Marion, McConnellsburg, Hustontown and Mont Alto also responded, police said.
