HAGERSTOWN — Two people were injured in an accident Friday involving two vehicles on Oak Ridge Drive in front of the Sheetz store at the intersection of Oak Ridge Drive and South Potomac Street, Trooper Jim Ardinger of the Maryland State Police said.

The west entrance to the Oak Ridge Terrace parking lot, which is across the street from the Sheetz store, was blocked off due to the accident that occurred at about noon, but was reopened at 12:50 p.m. Friday.

The accident happened when a Toyota Corolla had pulled out of the Sheetz parking lot onto Oak Ridge Drive and a Ford F150 pickup truck was heading west on Oak Ridge Drive when the accident occurred, Ardinger said.

The driver of the pickup truck, Darla West, and a passenger in the Corolla, Minnie Manspeaker, were taken to Meritus Medical Center, Ardinger said. Autumn Raley, the driver of the Corolla, was not injured, Ardinger said.

In addition to Maryland State Police, a firetruck from the Funkstown Volunteer Fire Co. was on the scene but cleared the area around 12:50 p.m. Friday. An ambulance from Hagerstown Community Rescue Service transported West and Manspeaker to Meritus Medical Center, Ardinger said.
