Isaac M. Eby, 94, of 13427 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown, Md., died at 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, in his home.
Born July 19, 1917, in Clear Spring, Md., he was the son of the late Theodore R. and Emma H. (Martin) Eby.
His first wife, Eva Lee (Martin) Eby, died Jan. 27, 1984.
He was a truck driver for Martin’s Elevator, and he also farmed and operated Eby’s Sharpening Service at his home.
He was a member of Reiff Mennonite Church near Cearfoss.
He married Emma C. (Burkholder) Eby on Dec. 27, 1984.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Loretta Mae (husband Wilmer) Martin, Hagerstown, and Bernetta K. (husband Charles) Horst, Clear Spring; daughter-in-law, Edith L. (Martin) Eby, Greencastle, Pa.; 19 grandchildren, 89 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. He was the last of his siblings.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Aldine J. Eby; an infant granddaughter, Rosella Eby; one brother, Daniel Eby; and three sisters, Esther Horst, Emma Shank and Nora Horst.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 22, at 10 a.m. at Reiff Mennonite Church near Cearfoss, with the Reiff Mennonite Church ministry officiating.
Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a viewing at the church this evening from 6 to 9 p.m. and at the church one hour before the service on Thursday.
The family requests the omission of flowers. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home of Greencastle.
