BOYS BASKETBALL

SMITHSBURG — Trent Springs scored a game-high 19 points and added three assists and three steals to lead Smithsburg to a 64-51 win over Brunswick (3-2, 2-1) in an MVAL Antietam game on Tuesday.

Jordan Fortson had 17 points and six rebounds and Brad Spickler had 10 points for the Leopards (4-2, 3-0).

Southern Fulton outscored Tussey Mountain 25-12 in the fourth quarter for the come-from-behind victory. Jake Ashkettle had 12 points for the Indians (4-0, 1-0).

Luke Zelanko led the Titans (3-2, 1-1) with 16 points.

BRUNSWICK, Md. — Elisa Owens scored a game-high 33 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead Smithsburg past Brunswick (0-5, 0-3) in the MVAL Antietam.

Krystal Holl had nine points, Danielle Harbaugh had six points and 11 rebounds and Alexis Andrukat had six points, six assists and five steals for the Leopards (4-1, 3-0).

BRIEF

Softball pitching clinic

The Tri-State Thunder organization will host a pitching clinic Friday featuring current Alabama pitching coach and former Crimson Tide and Chambersburg High School standout Steph VanBrakle.

The sessions will be held at Four Star Athletic Complex in Williamsport. Beginner and intermediate sessions will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m., and intermediate and advanced sessions from 4:30 to 6. Cost is $65 per session.

Pitchers must have their own catcher and ball/equipment. Maximum of 10 pitchers allowed per session. For more information, contact Missy Cutchall by email at sluggercoach@aol.com.
