Flossie Effie Everts, 75, of Warfordsburg, Pa., died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.

Born Aug. 8, 1936, in Hancock, she was the only daughter of the late Alonza E. Brakeall and Minnie Mae Wink Brakeall Johnson, and the widow of Thurman E. Everts, whom she married in July of 1955.

Prior to being a loving mother and homemaker, she was employed by Superior Dairy of Hagerstown and Fleming Oil Co. of Hancock.

She was a lifelong member of St. Thomas' Episcopal Church in Hancock, where she held the position of assistant treasurer for more than 30 years.

She is survived by two sons, Mark L. Everts of Hancock, Lee E. Everts and wife Lori of Needmore, Pa.; and one brother, Edward Otis Brakeall and wife Adele of Hancock.

A Service of the Holy Eucharist will be held Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, 2 E. High St., Hancock. The Rev. F. Allan Weatherholt will officiate. Burial will be in the Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery, Thompson Road, Needmore.

The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
