Second Christian Church, at 65 W. North Ave. in Hagerstown, will host its annual family and friends Christmas dinner Sunday at 1 p.m., following the morning service.

Black history program

The Hagerstown YMCA Achievers will host its annual community black history program Sunday, Feb. 19, at 3 p.m. at Bridge of Life Church, 14 S. Potomac St.

The event is to commemorate Black History Month, celebrating African-American heritage and achievements.

Performances will include local choirs/artists, soloists and Teen Achievers. This year's keynote speaker is Deborah Addo Samuels, Meritus Health chief operating officer and vice president for operations

The event is open to the public and is free of charge. However, donations will be accepted.  

Students in sixth through 12th grade are eligible to join the YMCA Achievers program. If  interested, call Deborah Phillips, director, at 301-739-3990, ext. 4239.
