Sharpsburg Elementary recognizes students

Sharpsburg Elementary School teachers nominated 14 students for exemplifying all the character traits of a respectful student.  These students enjoyed lunch at the "Golden Table" with teacher Jacklyn Kinzer, eating ice-cream sundaes to celebrate their accomplishments.

Keedysville Ruritan Club to hold basket bingo  

The Keedysville Ruritan Club will hold a New Year's Eve basket bingo Saturday, Dec. 31, with the doors opening at 4 p.m., and bingo starting at 6 p.m.

Bingo costs $20 for 30 games (includes six specials) and a mystery game.  Baskets will be filled.  Tip jars, raffles and food from the kitchen will be available.

Boonsboro High class to celebrate  

Members of the Boonsboro High School Class of 1977 are invited to a Christmas dinner with former classmates Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 6:30 p.m. at Longhorn Steakhouse at Premium Outlets.

Zumba fitness at Rockland  

The Washington County Recreation Department offers Zumba fitness classes at Rockland Woods Elementary.  Zumba classes combine Latin rhythms with easy to follow moves to burn calories and energize the body. 

Instructor Liz Martz teaches Mondays and Wednesdays from Jan. 9 to April 11 (no class Jan. 16), from 5:15 to 6 p.m.

The class costs $40 for county residents and $50 for out-of-county residents. The class costs $32 for county residents 55 and older, and $40 for noncounty residents 55 and older.
