Daniel (Danny)Elwood Lanehart, age 56, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, in Pensacola, Fla.
Born Sept. 15, 1955, in McConnellsburg, Pa., he was the son of the late George Elmer and Beverly Elizabeth Carnell Lanehart.
He was a 1973 graduate of Southern Fulton High School, Warfordsburg, Pa.; he attended Hagerstown Junior College and received his LPN from James Rumsey Technical Institute.
He was employed by the Potomac Center, DHMH State of Maryland, for 20 years. Earlier in his life he and his family operated Lanehart's and Son General Store in Dott, Pa.
He was Catholic by faith and was a Legacy member of the Mason's.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching birds in the backyard and sports.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Billie "B.J." Lanehart, whom he married July 24, 1987; mother-in-law, Anna Jo Vincill of Pensacola; goddaughter, Leanne Snow and husband, Paul, of Smithsburg; stepchildren, Erik Gray of Kearnersville, N.C., Matthew Abernathy of Tavares, Fla.; stepgranddaughters, Kayla Gray of Kearnesville, Fla. and Mackenzie McEuen of Akron, Ohio; sister-in-law, Dr. Susan McCord, RMCM and husband, RMCM SS Bill, of Pensacola; brother-in-law, EMCM SS Retired James Vincill and wife, Dr. Jan Sikes Vincill, of Palastine, Texas; cousins, Sara Keiffer and Conrad Carnell.
The family will receive friends Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock Md.
