Nora L. (Smith) Webber Hutzell, 77, of Main Street in Boonsboro, passed from this life to the next Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 at her home.

Born Aug. 20, 1934, in Yarrowsburg, she was the daughter of the late Albertus Fred and Mabel Naomi (Coulter) Smith.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred Leroy Webber, in 1983, and her second husband, Glenn Elwood Hutzell, in 2010.

She was a retired employee of Brethren Mutual Insurance Co. in Hagerstown, where she had worked for 10 years.

Nora was a member of the Brownsville Church of the Brethren, where she was an active participant in Sunday school, the choir, and had served as a deacon and on various committees. She was also a member of the Friends at Reeders Memorial Home.

She is survived by her son, Thomas L. Webber and his wife, Mary, of New Midway, Md.; and two stepsons, James E. Hutzell and his wife, Judy, of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Jeffrey A. Hutzell and his wife, JoAnn, of Gapland. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at Brownsville Church of the Brethren, 1911 Rohrersville Road, Brownsville. The Rev. Alan M. Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at the Brownsville Heights Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, where friends may begin visiting at noon. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brownsville Church of the Brethren, 1911 Rohrersville Road, Brownsville, MD, 21715.
