Waynesboro man pinned between car, tow truck

A Waynesboro, Pa., man suffered minor injuries when he was pinned between his car and a tow truck Wednesday night in Peters Township, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Foster Souders, 71, of Waynesboro, was taken to Meritus Medical Center east of Hagerstown with injuries to his lower torso, according to a state police news release.

Troopers said the tow truck met Souders at 8:37 p.m. to help him change a flat tire on his Suzuki Foreza in the 15000 block of Buchanan Trail West.

When Souders got out of his car to get the spare tire from the trunk, the tow truck slipped out of gear and pinned him between the two vehicles, police said.

The tow truck belonged to Pensinger’s service station in Fort Loudon, Pa., police said.

19-year-old charged following scuffle with teen boy

An Amberson, Pa., man was charged following a scuffle with a 15-year-old boy last week in Metal Township, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Sean D. Varner, 19, of Amberson, was charged with harassment, according to a state police news release.

Police said the incident occurred at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 9 in the 18000 block of Fannettsburg Road, where Varner allegedly put the youth, of Fannettsburg, in a headlock and struck “the victim on a school van.”

Franklin County Emergency Services report

The following incidents were reported Wednesday by Franklin County (Pa.) Emergency Services:

• At 2:35 p.m., a traffic accident in the 500 block of Wayne Avenue in Chambersburg.

• At 4:46 p.m., an odor of smoke in a residence in the 4100 block of Church Road in Guilford Township.

• At 6:19 p.m., a traffic accident in the 12400 block of Buchanan Trail East in Washington Township.

• At 8:50 p.m., a traffic accident in the 15000 block of Buchanan Trail East in Washington Township.
