Boonsboro’s J. R. Lowery and Abby Duncan set school records on Saturday in the Warrior Invitational at HCC.

In the boys shot put, Lowery had a toss of 53-0.75.

Williamsport’s Nick Barchock tied for first in the pole vault at 11-0 and the Wildcats’ Jesse Zeger was first in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.15.

Williamsport finished third with 56.5 team points and Boonsboro had 16 points. South Hagerstown had 27 points and Smithsburg 18. Walkersville was first with 80 points.

Duncan established a girls school record in the 55-meter dash in 7.40.

Boonsboro’s Sarah Zielinski was first in the 1,600-meter run in 5:37.37 and Smithsburg’s Emma Johnson was first in the 3,200-meter run in 12:14.69.

The North Hagerstown team of Emily Simmons, Christine Randall, Michey Moody and Emily Ward came in first in the 4x800-meter relay in 10:24.38.

Boonsboro ended fourth with 51 points, Smithsburg had 27, Williamsport 25, North Hagerstown 19.5 and South Hagerstown 19. Liberty took first place with 86 points.

Busssard wins Moats

Hagerstown bowler Scott Bussard won the recent Daryl Moats Memorial King of the Hill Tenpin tournament at Southside Bowl, besting a field of 47.

In the stepladder opener, Jeremy Gilbert defeated Mike Calloway Jr. 200-175 before losing to Bussard 267-161. Bussard then went on to beat Jeremy Nave 268-225 and top-seeded Danny Brush 215-213 for the crown.

While participating the Friday Night Mixed League, Mike Warrenfeltz received $25 for bowling a 289 game, 100 pins over his 189 average.
