Pa. man injured when head becomes pinned under car

NEEDMORE, Pa. — A Greencastle, Pa., man was flown to a hospital Saturday morning after his head became pinned under the car he had been driving on Pa. 2005, according to a Pennsylvania State Police news release.

Derek Ryan Younker, 19, of 532 S. Carlisle St. in Greencastle, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt south on Timber Ridge Road around 2:13 a.m. Saturday when the accident occurred, police said.

The driver lost control of the car after going around a curve, police said.

The Chevy went across the northbound lane into a field, where it flipped over and landed on its roof, police said.
Younker’s head was pinned under the car, extending through the sunroof, police said.

Fire companies from Needmore and Hancock responded, police said.

No further information was available.
