The North Hagerstown Lions Club has two projects to help those in the community.

• First, Bonus Books are for sale. Members are selling Bonus Books, which will be good through Dec. 1, 2012.  There are hundreds of coupons for the Tri-State area. Coupons are for discounts or buy one, get one free. They include casual, leisure, fast food/carryout dining; recreation, travel, lodging; and other businesses. The books cost $32. To purchase books, call Sharon at 717-597-8316 or Carolyn at 301-223-8207.  Proceeds support community organizations and scholarships

• Secondly, the community can donate a coat for a child. For the 25th year, the club is collecting Coats for Kids. Drop boxes for coats will be at Valley Mall near Sears, Richards World of Travel on Potomac Avenue and Always Ron's on Burhans Boulevard until Jan. 9. Items are being accepted for all ages, newborn to adult. Coats will be given to two Washington County nonprofit agencies: Children In Need and The Parent-Child Center.
