Hagerstown man sentenced to 20 years for sex abuse

December 06, 2011

BALTIMORE — A 43-year-old Hagerstown man was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court to 20 years in prison for sexually abusing a child to produce pornography.

Robert Paul Hade was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Richard D. Bennett, who ordered that Hade's prison term be followed by lifetime supervised release. Upon his release from prison, Hade also must register as a sex offender in the place where he resides, where he is an employee and where he is a student.

According to the plea agreement, a child reported in May 2010 that Hade sexually abused her for two years. On May 15, 2010, a search warrant was executed at Hade's residence, and pictures and a video documenting the sexual abuse of the child were recovered. Hade admitted that he instructed the child on how to pose for the pictures. He was arrested and remains detained.
