Patricia A. Kidwiler, 71, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., and formerly of Fairmont, W.Va., died early Sunday morning, Dec. 4, 2011, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.
Born July 23, 1940, in Watson, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William and Anna Fucello Zappacosta.
Patricia taught school in Frederick, Md., and also in the Ohio school system. She also had a real estate license. She graduated from Fairmont Senior High School in 1958 and from Fairmont State College in 1962, and received her master's degree from West Virginia University in 1968.
She was a avid golfer, bowler and traveler, and enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening and needlework.
She was a member of the Literacy Volunteer group, Boonsboro American Legion, Charles Town Moose Lodge and Shepherdstown Fire Co. ladies support group.
She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, William J. and Frances Zappacosta of Fairmont; nieces, Anne Marie Zappacosta and Christie Lee Zappacosta; and several aunts and cousins in the Fairmont area.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Kidwiler; and two brothers, Michael and Robert Zappacosta.
In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, there will be no viewing.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Fairmont.
