Christmas cantata at Shiloh U.M. Church

Shiloh United Methodist Church Adult Choir will present the Christmas Cantata “O Holy Night” on Sunday, Dec. 11, during the 9:15 a.m. worship service. The public is invited.

Santa Paws photo event benefits Humane Society

Studio 3 Photography will host Santa Paws, a photography fundraiser for the Humane Society of Washington County. Santa will be on hand to be photographed with your pet from  10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 6 S. Main St. Boonsboro.

Photos cost $10 each, with 50 percent of the proceeds donated to the humane society.  Advance reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made by calling 240-818-5833.  Street parking is available in front of the studio.

TOPS Md. 0446

For the second consecutive week, Barinda, who lost 4.6 pounds, was the Thinner Winner of Take off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) Md. 0446.

Charlie joined the chapter as our newest member. Mary led a discussion on motivation.

TOPS Md. 0077

TOPS Md. 0077 had a 23 1/2 lb. weight loss this week. Best TOPS losers were Millie Toms, Kathy Freese and Nancy Proctor. Best KOPS losers were Cindy Ryder and Lu.

The chapter welcomed two new members, Bruce and Sue Young. The monthly Get-R-Done prizes were won by Bev Arvin, TOPS, and Pat Sites, KOPS. The Ha-Ha box was won by Rose Shockey.

Lisa McCoy from the Washington County Health Deptartment presented the program on holiday eating, about the stress of the holidays and eating tips to help us cope with the holidays.
